Marlequin Productions was set up in 2025 by local playwright Liz Flanigan to create and stage hopeful stories. Liz, an English teacher and Chaplain, grew up in community theatre watching her Dad write and direct many plays, with both her parents on stage. She has performed herself, including roles in Sleeping Beauty the Pantomime, The Importance of Being Earnest, Seussical the Musical, Brief Encounter and Gypsy.

Liz has always loved creating and telling stories, and felt there was a need for more stories of hope, resilience and positive connection on stage, so she began to write some. She loves collaborating with actors, techs and other creatives, and greatly appreciates the mentoring and assistance of wise and experienced theatre people along the way. She hopes to keep writing and producing hopeful stories as long as she can.
